If there's a choice, Kingfishers would prefer a crab meal. I also wonder how they can just swallow the whole crab without breaking it apart. For us we also need a cracker. In this respect, we are no equal to Kingfishers. Plus our digestive system is no comparison to them. Things they do not need after swallowing, they gurgle out the wastes. Isn't it amazing ? You may notice that these creatures are endowed by Nature with a thick membrane to each eye to protect them from strong impact when diving or brisk shaking. Cheers
