Salar and Andean Lagoons
We joined a day tour and left San Pedro early at 6am to be the first to arrive at Laguna Chaxa to see the flamingos. The flamingos feed on the tiny creatures like shrimps that live in the salt lake. It was so chilly that my hands and feet all went numb. Then our tour guide prepared breakfast for us.
Then we had a walk at Lagunas Miscanti and Minique.(4000+ meters). These reminded me of similar landscapes I saw in Tibet.
At the small village of Socaire, we had a wonderful lunch. The food tasted natural and additive-free.
At Toconao, we walked down a valley where local people grew fruit trees.
