Cane Toads are native to South and Central America. They were introduced into Australia from Hawaii as a biological control for Cane Beetles. Their first place of release was around the Cairns and Innisfail area (far north Queensland). A female Cane Toad can lay up to 35000 eggs in one breeding season. |
