Kangaroo Island Kangaroo (Macropus fuliginosus fuliginosus)
A type of Western Grey Kangaroo, this subspecies has developed differently to those on the mainland. Its body is larger and heavier, the forearms more muscular and the tail shorter than the Western Grey Kangaroo. It lives in large groups in a variety of habitats across Kangaroo Island, which is a few miles off the southern coast of Australia.
