Easter Celebration in Quito/Ecuador
Date visited: 18 April 2014
Instead named as Easter, Holy week (Semana Santa) is commonly used in Ecuador/Latin America. During the easter week, over 500 people participate with thousands of onlookers. Particpants reenact moments of Jesus’s life before his crucifixion, made a parade along the main streets of historic city centre in Quito. Though I do not have any religon background, I feel very touching on what they did for their religon. ShipQuito |
