To Bath is actually to see this Austin center. It is located on Gay Street, only a short distance from the house where Austen lived briefly in 1805. There was a portrait of Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice at the entrance. Every staff member played a role: Elizabeth, Jane, Mr Darcy, etc. The Regency Tea Room is on the second floor. Warm, bright and cosy, with red walls, pretty table settings, and a whole load of austen memorabilia dotted about - including the portrait of Mr. Darcy above my seat! I paid for the full Darcy afternoon tea, which is £18 for 1 person and includes the tea. *£34 for two, btw. They also offer a slightly reduced version: the Ladies' tea, which is just scones and sandwiches with tea. You can also pay extra for prosecco or champagne.
