Aberdeen Street Social x NARS afternoon Tea
Fashion and food may not always seem to be the best of bedfellows, but sometimes there is more synergy than we think. Aberdeen Street Social's pastry chef Jessica Wu is taking inspiration from Christopher Kane's neon and nude beauty palette for NARS make-up to present a quirky, British-inspired afternoon tea that may almost be too pretty to eat. Wu uses plenty of fresh fruits such as strawberries, rhubarb and raspberries to create a colourful selection of desserts such as cheesecakes, eclairs and scones. As for savouries, it can't get any more British than finger sandwiches: smoked salmon and cream cheese, and the quintessential egg and cress. The afternoon tea is priced at HK$288 for two and also includes a signature Aberdeen Street Social cake – Ruinart champagne can be added for an additional HK$110-115 a glass. The tea is available to enjoy from July 2 to 31, and because of this my nephew booked this tea prior to my birthday (yes I'm an August girl). We received a complimentary set of mini NARS cosmetics and a voucher to visit the new Central boutique for a free 15-minute make-up service with the limited edition Christopher Kane products.
