DAY5 - Derawan & Sangalaki
A Seaslug passed by the entrance of a Jawfish shelter while i was taking photos. I repeated this a nos. of time and laughed by fellow divers.

After a dawn dive at the Derawan Jetty, we departed for Sangalaki which is famous of sighting school of Manta Ray! With rich experience, DM told us that the chance is only 50/50 so we didn't have much expectation. First, the crew searched for Manta at the surface but in vain. The Manta Boulevard dive site is sandy bottom with coral patches, visibility is only some 5-10m. Over 30 minutes after descend, Manta was still not found. At last, a juvenile came up which is quite cute but was scared away by us not long. After a while, i discovered the second Manta and ding ding ding fellow divers. Later on, we noticed that the Manta got two cat prawl-liked pattern on its belly :o. The Manta encounter this time was more brief than last time in Bali. I guess the main reason was that there wasn't enough plankton to attract adult Manta and the juvenile is quite afraid of divers.

This day, i was also grateful to have met two nice leaf scorpionfish and a beautiful Seaslug.
