001d...the clearest sky I have ever seen. Lion Rock is slightly to the right from the mid-point of the ridge afar.
001e...Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui, Ocean Terminal was a major hub with busy sea-faring travellers from all over the world.
003c...Piecework often was done outside, along the streets or on pavements — wherever space could be found.
004a...Sheung Wan had only low-rise buildings. Stonecutter Island was still an island, while Sham Shui Po, Kwai Chung, and Tsuen Wan had hardly any development.
004b...The old Yau Ma Tei Typhoon Shelter with its long breakwater is at the far right of the picture. The entire ridge of Beacon Hill and Lion Rock was visible from as far as The Peak of Hong Kong Island.
005a...Hung Hom and Ho Man Tin were also mostly undeveloped.
005d...Victoria Harbour had a much wider harbour before the vast area of reclamation off the shore of Wanchai.
