長洲以東方向島嶼遍佈，我們只能在南丫島和担杆島之間的陝小位置範圍直望南中國海的邊際。

亦即是說，每年只有一月和十一月的其中某兩至三天，同時天色晴朗，才有機會看見太陽從海平面冒起。

今天（十一月六日）日出應該位於這個位置，可惜雲層濃密，只見「鬚光」（雲隙光）。

East of Cheung Chau is bounded by many islands, we can only see the far off South China Sea

at a narrow angle between Lamma Island and Dangan Islands.

It is also means that only a couple of days each year in January and November,

and most important in good weather, there may be chance to see the sun rise from the edge of the sea.

Today is November 6th, the sunrise should have been in this position,

but unfortunately the sky is overcast and only crepuscular rays were visible.

Last year in January, I was so lucky to encounter the rising sun from the horizon,

and I wish the lights scattered through the clouds this morning can be a ray of hope of a beautiful re-union.
