Day 1: Arrival at St. Arnaud, gateway to Nelson Lakes National Park. No direct public transport, need to book private car or drive by yourself

Lake Rotorua and Lake Rotoiti are the famous lakes in Nelson Lakes National Park. I focused on Rotoiti only

My original plan was to Angelus Hut (1650m)

However,strongly warned by the DOC staff not going to the top due to heavily snow and rain last nite.

I gave up the top and selected the relaxing Lakehead Track and spent 3days 2nights here
