First birding trip[ 2 messages]
Art, Photography

One day after buying the ¤j¬¶ (telephoto lens), we went to Paya Indah Wetland looking for some birds. After making a few big round turn in our car (thanks to maikauchai for driving us there), we finally found the place. But unfortunately, the place is closed until May next year. We tried to sweet talk to the guard in order to let us in but no avail. Finally we have to settle to shoot around the place, where fortunately has lots of dragon fly and some birds.

After Paya Indah, everyone seemed not satisfied so I suggested we go to Cyberjaya park on our way back. There we found lots of lotus on the lake with bees hanging around. That's about our first birding trip. Find out the photos [here]. Critiques are welcomed! :-)

My new toy![ 2 messages]

Never thought of getting a telephoto lens so soon. But one of my photo-kakis' keep asking me to go 'birding'. What birds am I to shoot without a tele-lens? Since I am on a tight budget, this lens has to cost less RM1000. The less the better! haha...

Did some quick research on the Internet, I narrowed done to 2 lenses. The "Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 APO DG Macro" and the "Tamron 70-300 F4-5.6 LD Di Macro". Image quality wise, both lenses give acceptable results. Since I already have a Sigma lens, I decided to get the Tamron this time. And its about RM100 cheaper, too! ;p

In fact I bought this lens yesterday. Today, this afternoon to be exact, we went for our first birding trip. Will post some photos later, may be in a few days time because I do not have access to Internet for this coming few days. Stay tuned!

Whisker[ 1 messages]
General

Bought this cool pair of sunglasses for paupau as a birthday present the other day. This is Oakley's Whisker with polarized lens. If you are out there shopping for a pair of practical sunglasses, I strongly recommend you get one with polarized lens.

After wearing one with polarized lens for more than 2 years, I can say it really worth the extra money. It can really reduce glare, especially those bounce off the windshield of a car when you are driving. Depending on the sun's position, it can also reduce glare bounce off the road surface, especially after rain. If you go to beaches often, polarized lens is a must. Because glare from the surface of water will be reduced tremendously. to find out more, try to google, there are lots of information out there.

Beware though when you are wearing one and go to pump petrol, you may not see what's on the LCD display. In order to see, you must rotate your head a bit... :-) Trust me, you would see a different world behind a pair of polarized sunglasses. If you are into photography, a polarized filter will do wonders to your photographs, too... ;p

How strong is your heart?[ 0 messages]
Health

I am sure you have probably heard of this: The fitter you are, the slower your heart rate. Simply because these people's heart can pump more blood every beat.

Five times Tour de France champion Miguel Indurain has a resting heart rate of 29 bpm! At full steam, his heart can pump 7 litres of blood around the body every minute, compared to an average person's 3 to 4 litres.

Beware, if you hardly exercise and your heart rate is below 60 bpm, you could be in a medical condition called Bradycardia.

The key to a stonger heart is consistent aerobic exercise. So get out of your couch and start exercise now!

Schumacher's controversial 1994 F1 title![ 0 messages]
Car

The other day, someone asked me about the controversial crash between Damon Hill and Michael Schumacher (who else?) in the 1994 F1 title clash. Here the video, taken from YouTube.

Am I blogging too much about F1? haha... bear with me, this year's F1 season will be over in 2 weeks after Brazil. Errmm... May be after that I should blog more about A1, since our dear Alex won both races at the grand prix at Czech Republic...kudos!!!
