The town centre is a pedestrian only zone due to narrow streets and lack of parking

These days it is better known as one of the prettiest onsen towns with historic ryokans lined up along river

Foot bath, free of charge

Along the river, you can see many traditionally styled ryokans occupying three to four story of wooden buildings with their exposed woodwork and white plaster walls
