Vincent Poon :: Dubrovnik City - Old & New

Besides climbing the city walls and taking the cable car, the rest of our time was spent in the Old City exploring the museums and the churches, getting lost in the alleyways, checking out the Baroque and Gothic architecture, reading up the history and chilling out near the sea side. Although you could find many of these elements in many  other European cities, Dubrovnik in my opinion is still very unique and is definitely worth another visit

The Placa street at night
The next day it was a bright sunny day
This was how we hanged our clothes from 2nd floor, I must admit it was very clever!
The Pile Gate. If you came from new city, chances are this will be the first gate you will pass through to get into the old city

If you enter the old city by the Pile Gate, the Great Onofrio fountain is the first sight you will see. It is a sixteen-sided container with a cupola, and was one of the ending points of the aqueduct system.
During our visit there was a Dali exhibition in Dubrovnik
This was a place where they forged ancient coins. There was some live demonstration from time-to-time
The Small Onofrio Fountain was to supply the market on the Luza square with water.

A lion fountain on Gundulic Square
This is the Pirate Candy Shop, all the stuff on the barrels are candies...
These are actually candies that are made like tennis balls
another type of candies, wonder if they taste as good as they look
