Perhaps one of the best known places in Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park is truly a must see. Consisting of 16 lakes, this UNESCO site has an abundance of forested hills, turqoise water and falls that will guarantee you a temporary escape from your urban jungle.

This is the path we took on the way back to the Mukinje village, a nice stroll through a mini-woodland
The trees are tall and densely packed, so we'd better hurry back to the village or it could be a bit scary after dark
