Vincent Poon :: Black & White Desert (16th - 17th Apr 2007)
My first ever wild camping experience was spent on this 2 days 1 night camping tour at the white desert. It was a trip with many memorable experiences: Enjoyed the starry starry night, the sunset and the sunrise; had some real BBQ chicken; missed a desert fox; slept with an Egyptian scarab; battled with flies over breakfast; and finally a sandstorm to conclude the trip.

Lobby of the complex. I wonder if all the strange shaped stones were from the desert.
Dining room: where we had our lunches (and battled with the flies) before and after our desert trip. I also got scratched by the black cat here too :(
They like their buildings in dome shaped structure... is it because this will make them cooler?
The balconies of the rooms in this hotel. You will live here for the 2nd night if you opt for a 3 days 2 nights tour.

David told me it was a mule, a cross between a horse and a donkey.. stronger than a donkey... no wonder why emule is more succesful than eDonkey...
This is the Bahariyya Oasis.. it is actually very large
People grew a lot of vegetation in this area.
I now understand where our bread came from!
