Vincent Poon :: Sharm El-Sheikh (25th - 27th Apr 2007)
The only reason I flew all the way to the other side of Egypt was only because of its surrounding water. The Red Sea.

Mount Sinai? Moses? Well, I would visit you next time..

A restaurant along the main street. This was where I had my cocktail and cake.
The prize of the dive... a sting ray happily flapping along the seabed
Most interesting fish I have seen in the entire trip!
Album: Na'ama Bay
When I asked Catherine my diving instructor if she lived in Na'ama Bay she said, 'Na'ama Bay has only got hotels, restaurants and shops. No one actually lives here.'

Well, it certainly was not hard to realize this after the first night. Na'ama Bay exists solely for the tourists. The whole area is asleep when the sun shines; when the sun retires, the city really comes alive.

Say goodbye to all the tranquillity you get at the beach during the day, for it is always party time in Na'ama Bay!

PS This area was also the area which was bombed by the terrorists in 2005.

Album: Introductory Dive (25th Apr 2007 PM)
My first scuba dive since year 2001. It was also my first scuba dive overseas. Because of the time constraint, I was forced to do an introductory dive instead of a regular dive. I was treated as a newbie and had to put in the BCD in the water, or couldn't go deeper than 5m... both of which were quite humiliating... nevertheless, at least I got the chance to dive in the Red Sea.... next time I will be back~

Album: Snorkelling@Ras Mohammed (26th Apr 2007)
This is one of the best dive sites in the world.. in fact it turns out to be one of the best for snorkelling too... the superb and extensive corals are all very near to the surface, with an abundance of angel, butterfly and other colourful reef fishes.

As of today I still didn't know the company that organized the snorkelling trip. But for USD25, it included 3 stops around the Ras Mo National Park, lunch and unlimited (supposed to be) drinks, and the experience was rewarding!
