Vincent Poon :: Ports of Call - Messina, Mt. Etna & Taormina

Messina was the first port of call in our trip; it was also the first time I set foot in Sicily and also the first time I climbed an active volcano. In fact it is the largest in Europe... boy, aren't you excited?

What we got at the end was a crater that even the old people can climb and finish in minutes, and also a beautiful medieval town if not spoilt by the heavy rain storm...

Besides the southern crater there is also the northen crater
and it is now completely covered by fog/smoke
the crater started to become visible after the fog was partially cleared up
