Vincent Poon :: Palace of the Grand Masters
 
A fortress within fortress, this was the seat of 19 Grand Masters. Built in the 14th century and was blown up by an accidental explosion in 1856. It was then restored by the Italians in the 1930s as a holiday home for Mussolini and King Victor Emmanuel III.
