Vincent Poon :: Ephesus Terrace Houses

Also called 'The Houses of Rich', they were located inside Ephesus and is 'newly' opened to those like me who haven't come back since 13 years ago. Definitely worth (paying and) seeing what the houses and the (rich)family lives were during the Roman period

On the ground floor there were living and dining rooms opening to the hall, and upstairs there were bedrooms and guest rooms
Most of these houses had courtyards in the center measured between 25-50 meters. The courtyard was surrounded by a colonade and paved with marble.
This I believe is the hall of the Muses. The hall was so named because it had frescoes of Muses on its walls

Besides the frescoes on the walls, the marble floors are filled with mosaics
Mosaic of Medusa
Mosaic of you-don't-know-who
Mosaic of Poseidon

The bathroom. The clay pipes run beneath the floors and behind the walls carried hot air through the houses
The Corinth column style suggests that it should be of the Roman-era
A panoramic view of the site
