Vincent Poon :: Everything about flying...and waiting and eating and yes, more flying....

This album is all about our flying experiences to and from Tunisia as well as the domestic journeys between Tunis and Djerba.(Yep, ATR72!!!).As expected, the airports were no thrills and delays were expected. The last day was almost ruined by the public holiday with virtually no transportation to the airport, plus heavy rain that grounded all the flights. Luckily at the end we got back home in one piece!

A plane finally arrived. could this be for us?
Yes, we finally got to board the plane back to Tunis
and this time we had a jet A320 instead of the very dangerous looking propeller plane ATR72 we had before

To save fuel, it didn't fly that high even if it was a jet. Perfect for viewing the landscape below
You know you have arrived Tunis when you see so many houses in the area
Finally back to Tunis. At that time it was evening already
On the last day it was a national holiday and everything stood still, we were lucky to get a taxi at the end. But even that taxi would only stop in front of the car park and refused to go inside.

2014 was the 90th anniversary of this airport (didn't know it's that old!) Too bad we just missed the anniversary celebration!
This is the place to get SIM cards for your mobile. I saw a Chinese tour rushed to here to get the SIM as soon as they arrived.
This time since we are really departing on an international flight, so we could go inside the lounge...
It was really basic but then I wouldn't mind any free food...
