Vincent Poon :: Cap Bon - Hammamet & Nabeul
 
Hammamet is now the most popular place for the European tourists as Sousse faded out. In reality the place was ideal for resorts and the only reason why we went was to have a taste of the Cap Bon Peninsula, the so-called "Tunisia's back garden". Sadly we could not find any local tour on this so at the end we went to Nabeul instead.

As we left the medina we saw the other landmark of the city - Orange Monument
At one point the pool looked like an infinity pool
The big wok of the day were shrimps and rice... I told you the shrimps were cheap here!
Album: Nabeul
 
Nabeul, 18km north of Hammamet, is the administrative centre of Cap Bon and Tunisia's biggest ceramics centre. Friday is the grand market day where all the tourists will come along. Too bad it wasn't friday when we got there... the sole reason for us to come here was to get a local mobile sim card.. (and might as well check out the famous potteries and its medina on the way too...)

Album: The Hotel, Sentido Le Sultan
 
Sentido Le Sultan was the most modern hotel we have stayed during our 2 weeks in Tunisia. OK, the beach was a bit disappointing but besides that all the other facilities were well-maintained and modern and made us feel that we were back to the civilization once more... oh did I forget to mention they even have a riding school?

Album: The Food
 
Although the food variteties were not as great as Seabel Alhambra's, they made it up with quality and more importantly, an abundance of shrimps and fishes.... and did I mention that they actually had a Japanese restaurant in the hotel? No French, no Italain, no German but just ONE Japanese restaurant? Was it good? I dunno as I was not that desperate enough to pay to try out the Tunisian-style Japanese!
