Vincent Poon :: Sidi Bou Said

With the narrow, cobbled streets and the white and blue houses, people often compare this little cliff-top village to the Greek islands. Well, if you really think that  either you have never been to Greece (which I highly recommend you to do so!) or that I am missing something here...

Having said that it is still quite a unique place in Tunisia and is worth a visit if you are visiting Carthage anyway.

The cafe was a relaxing place to sit and watch the crowds and the daily life of Sidi Bou Said
This cafe had been here for years and you could see it was a favourite spot for the early 20th century advant-garde artists and famous writers
The interior of the cafe decor had not changed in years and it was also a nice atmosphere to enjoy some shisha (tobacco) if you fancy so.
I don't think (hope) that my tea was made from that...

The lady was trying to sell some photographic opportunities with her hawk.
Another 'hawker'... his stare made me feel that I am going to be his next prey...
The donuts, though greasy-looking, actually tasted quite nice.. there were no fillings inside, just some sugar coating...
There were many shops that sell artistic handcrafted goods

We passed by a very nice restaurant called 'Dar Zarrouk'
Well, it had got the 3 forks award, no sure what that actually means but one thing is for sure, it wouldn't be cheap here...
Inside was a very nice patio/courtyard... I have heard the bay view overlooking the marina on the the other side was even more impressive
