Vincent Poon :: Sousse

Sousse, the first and also the longest place we stayed in Tunisia. It is the 3rd largest city in Tunisia and used to attract many tourists each year. Sadly, its days were gone and now most people flocked to Port el-Kantoui or Hammamet. We chose here only because of its close proximity to places like Kaiouran, El-Jem and Monastir.

Boujaffar Beach
After the meal we decided to check out the restaurant, it seems that they had more stuff than shown in the menu
The best part about the hotel was the reception entrance
Album: The City

The original plan did not include much sightseeing inside Sousse, however, as the pathetic hotel did not provide any washing facility so we had to set aside a day to hunt for the 'PRESSING' (laundry) shops in the city and did a bit of sightseeing too. At the end it turned out that all the laundry shops in Sousse charged by item instead of by weight.

Album: The Food

As we only opted for B&B in Sousse, most of the time we had to hunt around for food... There were plenty of restaurants in Sousse but we just couldn't be bothered to take the taxis to these places and rather settled with those nearby. The Casa Del Gelato, which we came by accidentally, was quite a pleasant surprise though.

Album: The Hotel, Le Marabout Sousse

We stayed in this 3* hotel Marabout. Sadly it was also the worst we had (not including those in the desert) They decided to give the old wing to the customers that did not go for all-inclusive and it was quite a nightmare. Broken shower head and raining air-conditioner were just a taste of what you would get...
