If Medina is the old city then this part is the new city of Tunis... here we (tried to) hunt for good restaurants as well as experienced first hand on what it was like to be waking up in a city where you met more cops than citizens during the festival of Eid al-Adha.

Statue of Ibn Khaldun, a great Tunis-born Islamic teacher and philosopher, but he was surrounded by barbed wires... is that how you pay respect to a great man?
In the middle was the Cathedral of St Vincent de Paul
The exterior melded a combination of melds Gothic, Byzantine and Moorish elements.
The interior was rather simple in comparison...
Statue of Ibn Khaldun, a great Tunis-born Islamic teacher and philosopher, but he was surrounded by barbed wires... is that how you pay respect to a great man?

Now looking back at the picture I wonder if the model the angels are holding is indeed the cathedral of St. Vincent de Paul
The Catholics presence in Tunisia? Seems diminished a lot after Tunisia has gained independence
Interesting architecture of another building along avenue Habib Bourguiba
One was scratching his arm pit while the other was pointing at you...
