If Medina is the old city then this part is the new city of Tunis... here we (tried to) hunt for good restaurants as well as experienced first hand on what it was like to be waking up in a city where you met more cops than citizens during the festival of Eid al-Adha.

and nice packaging too...
But after seeing this, it did not feel right to stuff that much stuff in a late night dinner...
It seems the Tunisian also like to eat the fruit of the cacti..
We wandered aimlessly and landed in this huge supermarket... The fishes could be an option?

and they have a dedicate section for the spices... no, spice and fishes won't go well for our dinner tonight...
No those were not flies nor bats but were actually swallows on the sky
We passed by Théâtre municipal de Tunis, an example of the Art Noveau architecture in Tunis.
and we decided to treat ourselves nicer (after going through horrific experiences in the panorama restaurant), so we settled in this Grand Cafe of the Theatre
and they have a dedicate section for the spices... no, spice and fishes won't go well for our dinner tonight...

The restaurant had a good atmosphere!

Shrimps spaghetti. The total for the dinner was 34 TND, which was quite good considering the food quality
On the last day we woke up to find nobody was on the street. This was the same Avenue Habib Bourguiba that was always full of people and crowds!
