Namtso in Tibetan language means 'sacred lake', one of the three largest salt water lakes in Tibet, one of the highest altitude lakes in the world. It is also a famous holy land of Tibetan Buddhism. It is said that after travelers circle the lake or Zhaxi island once and circle Duoqiong island for twelve times in every Year of sheep, they could acquire infinite merits and virtues besides profound knowledge, safety and health of their family could be blessed.
