day19

first spot we went was ?公塔. but as suggested by 郭?傅, we just took a picture from the outside.

different kinds of 葡萄干 for sales outside of 苏公塔.

next, we went an area where 郭师傅 wanted to find some old friends. 郭师傅 stayed there some over 20 years ago for five years when people were sent 上山下鄉. 郭师傅 wanted to look for the people who took care of him. they last met in over 10 years ago.

these were 郭师傅's neighbors, perhaps.

well, this was the place where they met again.

郭师傅's friend invited us to visit his family.

cute baby was tied up at his bed. but don't worry, he was fine.*

we bought them some chips, and she wanted to give us back some. I think they like to have their hair shaved.

so the family's main source of income is 晾葡萄. they make quite some money by doing so. these grapes were hang dried in a structure built by mud with full ventiliation, different from sun dried.

so many of those grapes, soon to be tasty dried grapes.

these were not yet hanged.

they had a handful of sheeps too. this one is called "black sheep"

oops, when I went out again, they were looking at each other. preparing their mood?

let's go harvest some fresh grapes.

so this was 郭师傅's friend and he was about to take some grapes as 师傅's souvenirs.

of course, he let us take some. he asked us to try at once but the grapes were actually very dusty. nonetheless, we still tried some. look at Zola and you will know.

so he was getting some fresh ones for 郭师傅.

next we came to 火焰山. the one at the back was 火焰山.

walked closer... 44C here already. it was really hot, but yet dry.

well, look at the sign and you will see this is 火焰山. the camels really can take the heat. these camels are for tourists to ride around the 火焰山.

well, I refused but I gave him a couple of cigarettes as a friendly gesture. so I also took a picture of him and his pet.

right before reaching the 火焰山, there was actually a sculpture museum. we turned back and took a quick look.

after 火焰山, we came back here for lunch. this was the 交通宾馆 we lodged last night.

next we came to 交河故城, the place where we could not get in the day before.

as the name said. but don't ask me what is wrong with the picture. I really don't know.
