A collection of all the bits and pieces I had done, I had seen in Cairo.. some were nice, some were nasty and most often they were surprising!
Survival in Cairo basically means that you won't get killed by the traffic, you won't get conned by the most innocent Egyptian you ever come across, you can get on to the metro during rush hours... if you can cope with these, then welcome to Cairo!

The "shared" lift for the paris hotel. Like most "hotels" in Cairo, you get the priviledge to "operate" your own lift... Besides the sliding rail, this one also comes with two doors. (like the old british telephone booth)
This fastfood takeaway got the award for being my most frequently visited. Cheap, tasty and exceptional interesting.
The 185m Cairo Tower (as seen from my hostel's balcony)
For 60LE (~84 HKD), you get to the top of the Cairo Tower with half of the tower blocked off becoz of rennovation... so much of seeing the Giza pyramids at night :(

Fishawi's. The famous tea shop located in a hard-to-find alley inside Khan al-Khalili. It took me 3 times to find it. (but the first 2 times were at night time)
