Definitely not the most luxurious trip this was! (and definitely not the worst!) The only good thing about these hotels/hostels/camps were the price, especially in Jordan!

Although most people would like to stay in the New City in Jerusalem for the modern hotels I would recommend you to try to stay in the Old City as it turned out after dark the Old City was quite a different experience! And don't tell me that you have not been warned!! ;)

Lutheran Guest House (31-8 to 4-sep), situated in the Christian Quarter, at around HKD610/night and I was impressed for this price.

My single room was spacious though the curtains was a joke

Nice courtyard, a shame that I didn't use much

Lobby area

A cozy living room, again not many guests were using it for socializing

Overall a very good place for money in the Old City. The way back could be a bit quiet at night

El Hashimi Hostel/Hotel (4 to 6-sep), situated in the Muslim Quarter, 55USD/night. Changed to this hotel because Lutheran was fully booked

The room itself was not too bad, as it was run by Muslim, I couldn't share a room with another female unless we were married. Not that I was sharing one anyway....

except the toilet...

Could not move the tap, that was the maximum throughput I got

The lobby area was quite nice

and the style was really ottoman feel...
