Mount Olive is really famous for the place where Jesus was betrayed and arrested after the Last Supper, and also the place where he ascended into Heaven 40 days after resurrection.

Unless you are still young and fit and energetic, otherwise plan yourself properly if you want to tread the footsteps of Jesus in this mountain. Trust me.

Or unless you have a car........

What was a camel doing here? was he as lost as me?

Time for lunch. I found this famous Seven Arches hotel and wanted to treat myself nicely... sadly, the cost was far too much for me to treat myself nicely...

Walking along the same road, I came across another hotel (the Mount of Olives Hotel), which was quite a contrast to the 7 arches...

Given the limited choices, budget and energy I had left, this would be my place for lunch

Finally the church of Pater Noster was open!

This was built on the same site where Jesus is believed to have taught the Lord's Prayer

The inner entrance to the convent is seen after entering the gate.

The most interesting things here are the attractive tiled panels on which are inscribed the Lord's Prayer in over 100 languages.

and of course in Chinese... Traditional Chinese! But why did they date it and state the origin?

and in Hebrew, btw it is read from right to left, like Chinese
