Vincent Poon :: Dar Bibine

When you cross a traditional Djerbian house with the brilliant mind of a modern Belgian architect, you get Dar Barbine. After coming into Tunisia, Gerard and Isabelle spent most of their time slowly and gradually transforming this which otherwise was a normal Tunisian residence into a chic and stylish guest house! Yes I was so impressed by the pictures I made a detour to come here to experience for one night and I was not disappointed!

If you want to be at the top but you want to hide away from the sun, then this is the place to chill out
On the right is where you will sleep. It is a cave-like structure partitioned with curtains
Fried egg, very imaginative and it tasted fresh too!
Album: The House itself

Dar Bibine itself was not big, there were only a few rooms and a courtyard, yet Gerard managed to utilize every corner yet without letting it look or feel very crowded or dull. A tour around and above the house is a must-do item for each guest! (and since it is not opened to public, so it is only a priviledge for those who stay!)

Album: Our Room - No. 3

The boutique hotel has only a handful of rooms and each room was "made" specially and decorated differently so no rooms are the same. We chose room #3 because it has a bathtub (and it looked nice in the photo too). The room was not too big but the lighting arrangement and the chic decoration made us feel very comfortable!

Album: The Food

Eating in DarBibine had a totally different experience than eating elsewhere in Tunisia... not only did the food tasted fresh and delicious, the presentation and the imagination of the food served was even more impressive!
