Vincent Poon :: Hotel Djerba Plaza Thalasso & Spa

The last "luxuroius" hotel we stayed in Tunisia, this 4-star Djerba Plaza hotel is located inside a palm park of 14 hectares and right next to a nice beach. Although it was awarded #25 as the best service hotel in tripadvisor in Tunisia, I personally did not find any outstanding services except from one of the receptionists. Nevertheless, the space, the greens, the pools and the beach all made the stay in this hotel worthwhile.

This is our balcony view, a lovely view of the SPA building
These fruit tarts looked nice!
Album: The Hotel
The first impression of the hotel was really disappointing - dated lobby design, paints peeling off the exterior of the dome, etc. However, it was the large swimming pool that really shone and the experience in swimming under the grove of palm trees was surely something quite unforgettable.

Album: The Room

The room was roomy, recently renovated and had a large balcony which not only could we hang our laundry but also allowed me to take some good shots of the African night sky

Album: The Food
Again, we stayed as a half-boarding option. While the dinner and breakfast was alright (things could not go too wrong in a buffet-style meal), lunch was a serious problem especially when you only have one paid restaurant with limited choices for 3 consecutive days. On the last day it was a relief to be leaving the hotel.
