During WWII, in preparation for the Japanese invasion, defending British troops dug air raid shelters, bunkers and trenches in the region. Bullet holes on derelict structures are the only remainders of the bloody battles that once rocked these hills. 二次大戰時，為抵禦日本軍的佔領，英軍亦開始備戰，挖防空洞，修築戰壕堡壘，碉堡內彈痕纍纍，可見當時的戰況是何等激烈。
